St. Patrick’s Cathedral

This cathedral is the temple Catholic style neo of the country’s largest, and also houses the Archdiocese of New York .

It is located on the land where they planned to build a Jesuit school in 1810, but the project did not materialize.

Later, it was decided to build a new cathedral, so in 1858 work began on the cathedral designed by James Renwick child . The works were completed in 1865, after a stop by the Civil War and was inaugurated in 1879.

It was built in white marble Boston and Massachusetts. The towers were completed in 1888; have more than 100 meters high, but not stand being so close to the Rockefeller Center .
